Tenant Spotlight: U-Vet Animal Clinic
U-Vet Animal Clinic in Newburgh Commons is a family-owned practice and has earned AAHA accreditation, a distinction reserved for hospitals that meet rigorous standards for care, safety, and client service. It’s led by Dr. Jimmy Yu, who brings more than two decades of veterinary experience to the practice.
That family feel carries into the range of patients U-Vet welcomes. Alongside the expected dogs and cats, the clinic treats birds, small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and aquatic animals, plus the occasional less common patient over the years, from rabbits and ferrets to potbelly pigs. Since opening its doors in July 2011, the team has built a reputation for saying yes to just about any kind of companion who needs care, a track record they credit to their staff, clients, and local rescue partners.
U-Vet is also a Fear Free Certified practice, a distinction the team takes real pride in. In practice, that means appointments are built around keeping animals calm and comfortable through thoughtful handling and a low-stress environment, making vet visits less scary for pets and less stressful for the people who love them.
The clinic is built to handle far more than routine checkups, offering in-house diagnostics, imaging, and surgery so most pet health needs can be met in one place without a referral elsewhere.
Beyond the exam room, U-Vet supports pet owners through some of the harder parts of pet ownership, including geriatric care, surgical referrals, prescription diets, health certificates, and even pet air travel assistance.
U-Vet Animal Clinic is open Monday through Friday, in Newburgh Commons, a convenient, established option for pet owners throughout the area. Reach the clinic at (812) 490-7352 or myuvet.com.
